This one hundred unit row-house project is inspired by Charleston, South Carolina's venerable American city. The four basic units comprising the master plan are based on that city's famous "single house". Each unit consists of private walled gardens, high ceilings, and interior spaces which open up through a variety of doors and windows to catch the breeze and allow a garden view. English, French and West Indian influences are brought together and resolved in a design ideally suited to the climatic conditions of South Florida. (Duany Plater-Zyberk Architects)
